Job overview
Do you have experience as a Non-Executive Director or Chair and want to make a difference to your local health and social care community?
Due to the resignation of our current Chair, the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care Board (ICB) is looking to recruit an outstanding individual who will offer effective Board leadership at a time of significant opportunity and challenge. This is a complex role and candidates should have proven board level experience in large scale organisations or systems, ideally as a Chair or Non-Executive Director. A deep understanding of key NHS policies and those relating to the wider care sector is essential.
Main duties of the job
The Chair will lead the unitary board of the ICB which has membership from our Trusts, Local Government and primary care and focuses, in particular, on the planning and delivery of NHS services and integration with Social Care. The postholder will also play a key role in our Integrated Care System (ICS) which brings together partners from across our wider system.
The Chair will work particularly closely with our CEO, offering appropriate support and challenge. The postholder will ensure the Board fulfills its oversight and scrutiny responsibilities and maintains strong governance arrangements.
We are looking to appoint a Chair who is committed to openness, transparency and compassionate leadership. The postholder will forge purposeful partnerships across the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin system and will lead our Board as it plans and oversees improvements in the health of our local populations.
The role requires a commitment for a minimum of 2 days per week.
Working for our organisation
We wish to be representative of our local population therefore would encourage applicants from the broadest pool, including Black, Asian and ethnic minority communities, people from lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) communities, and those with lived experience of a long term condition/disability.
All members of the board are required to comply with the Nolan Principles of Public Life and meet the NHS Fit and Proper Persons requirements.
For more information please contact: Simon Whitehouse, CEO of the ICB or Roger Dunshea, current Acting Chair of the ICB via Tracy Eggby-Jones on [emailprotected]
Interviews will be held on 31 January 2025 at Cardinal Square, Derby.
Applicants will be required to participate in a stakeholder panel - dates to be confirmed.
