About the role The Field Care Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Registered Manager in organising the day-to-day running of the service provided through the Policies, training, supervision, and guidance provided by the Company. The Field Care Supervisor responsibility is to support the Registered Manager and Care coordinator in achieving the Company’s aims and objectives and achieving quality in the service provided to the Service Users per the Company’s Quality Assurance Policy. Duties & Responsibilities To undertake risk and manual handling assessments on new clients/service users prior to the provision of a care service with regard to the potential risks to service users and workers associated with delivering the package of care, and to ensure that the assessment is updated annually or following any significant change. To maintain an effective system in consultation with the Care Coordinator and Registered Manager for quality assurance management based on the outcomes for service users, in which standards and indicators to be achieved are clearly defined and monitored on a continuous basis, ensuring that all service users and their carers are consulted about the care service. To carry out introductory visits of new care workers to a client. Rapid response will be required to cover sickness at the last minute, rotas will be changing at last minute. To be responsible for on-call every other weekend in case of an emergency cover visit. Give a detailed report of the weekend on call and report any concerns immediately. To liaise closely with the Care Coordinator in relation to recruitment, allocation of Care Workers and ensure contingency within the service. To meet care workers formally on a one to one basis for the purposes of direct supervision at least quarterly and keep written records on the content and outcome of each meeting. Development of care & support plans and updates to these. To allocate suitable alternative Care Workers when an existing Care Worker notifies that they are unable to attend a call. To urgently report any changes in a Care Worker’s or client’s schedule to the Care Coordinator. To monitor, supervise and mentor all Care Workers in the field. To carry out spot checks and observations. To ensure accuracy and completeness of all documentation held in Service Users homes. To ensure that all written reports and administration is up to date. Act appropriately in emergency situations, reporting incidents whilst respecting client/service user’s sensitivity, privacy and confidentiality and respond to crisis situations effectively by summoning appropriate assistance Desirable NVQ3. Professional qualification. Experience of working as a supervisor or senior care worker or other roles within a care providing organisation. Fully Flexible You will have the ability to set and maintain high standards of quality and professionalism in all areas of work. You will have good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with staff and service users in a professional manner. Client and carer confidentiality must be adhered to at all times. This role requires you to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
