Full job description
We are looking for a Care / Support worker to join our team of Personal Assistants supporting a young adult in the Fylde area. The role will be varied, but you will be supporting the individual who is non-verbal and living with epilepsy and profound and multiple learning difficulties, to lead an individual and independent lifestyle within their family home and the community. The individual has a range of interests particularly music, accessing the outdoors, and swimming. The individual lives with their family and you will work alongside them to allow him to access life to his full potential.
You will be working as part of a small team on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis.
Your contracted hours would be flexible and suit needs. Day shift or night shifts available based off preference. Hours available for any day of the week, weekends are not obligatory but available.

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training and competencies. The training is bespoke to the young adult and fully comprehensive for meeting their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis, to keep your knowledge and skills current.
Who we are looking for:
You must be self-motivated, well organised, reliable and an excellent team player. Experience is not essential but being naturally caring and compassionate is a must. Your role will include:
* Incontinence management.
* Moving and Handling (including hoisting).
* Domestic duties (Laundry, cleaning, occasional cooking nutritious meals).
* Supporting to travel to appointments, participate in social activities including swimming and be able to confidently support with hydrotherapy sessions.
* Monitoring of general health and well being, daily record keeping as such.
* Supporting and communicating with someone who is non verbal.
You should also have:
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
* Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness.
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check. You must also have eligibility to work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship.
