Job Description:
In this role, you will be working as part of the People Support Team to provide advice and guidance on key employee performance and conduct scenarios, ensuring legal, regulatory and policy compliance and advocacy, mitigating business risk and ensuring fairness in process and practice. This will be achieved with sound employment law in practice, strong relationships with managers and the ability to gain trust from colleagues, contributing to a high-performance, employee valued culture.
The People and Culture Advisor role brings specialist initiatives to life across the whole employee lifecycle, supporting People and Culture Partners, specialist colleagues and the wider business. This may be through owning key projects and identifying trends and using data insight to support recommendations for performance improvements.
What you will be doing:
1. Manage employee relations caseload, coaching managers and employees through informal and formal processes, with the objective of fairness and consistency in practice and outcomes in a timely manner.
2. Promote and govern legal, regulatory and company policy compliance in practices.
3. Support the delivery, implementation and embedding of the key People and Culture team plan projects and workstreams across the business as appropriate.
4. Collaborate closely with other People Team specialists with a ‘one team’ approach, shaping our offerings and embedding them effectively in the business.
5. Support practices which drive a culture of high performance and engagement, where talent is recognised.
6. Keep up to date with People Team best practices within the sector and legal changes - feeding into policy, process and practice, sharing with others as appropriate.
7. Question and challenge team cultures and behaviours to ensure that they are consistent with the Team’s Identity.
8. Ensure diversity and inclusivity runs through everything we do.
Requirements
1. Relevant experience operating as an HR Advisor, HRBP or Employee Relations Specialist, ideally within a technical, operational or manufacturing environment.
2. Experience of working in a fast paced, high-performance environment with ambiguity and rapid change the norm.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and able to build strong stakeholder relationships.
4. Strong working knowledge of Employee Relations and UK employment law; international (US and Germany) employment law knowledge a bonus.
5. Experience of supporting the implementation of change initiatives, ideally within a rapidly growing or evolving business setting.
6. Numerically competent with proven experience producing quality management information with trend analysis aimed at stakeholders at multiple levels.
7. Up to date knowledge of best practice and emerging trends in the field of HR.
8. Degree preferred and CIPD qualified to level 5 or above, or equivalent experience demonstrated.
