Transport Planner (Lutterworth)
~ Permanent ~ Monday to Friday ~ Immediate Start
Location: Lutterworth, Leicestershire
Pay rate: £30,000 - £35,000 per year Depending on experience
Transport Section Leader Job role:
1. Resource Management: Effectively manage and plan driver and vehicle resources to achieve delivery/collection times and client SLAs.
2. Service Level Maintenance: Ensure that service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments.
3. Regulatory Compliance: Optimise resources and adhere to Working Time Directive (WTD) and drivers' hours legislation.
4. Legal Compliance: Ensure legal compliance regarding any defects, services, MOTs, etc.
5. Incident Investigation: Investigate all incidents of fleet damage, Road Traffic Incidents (RTIs), and High Potential Near Misses (HPNMs), escalating to line managers for further support.
6. Disciplinary Actions: Carry out disciplinary hearings, return to work meetings, and substance misuse procedures.
7. Risk Assessments: Ensure any risk assessments at the depot are organised and carried out accordingly.
8. Driver Briefings: Conduct pre-brief and debrief sessions with all drivers, ensuring company standards are maintained and adhered to.
Transport Section Leader Shift pattern:
1. 4 ON 4 OFF
2. 06:00 - 18:00
What we are looking for in a Transport Section Leader:
1. Knowledge & Experience: Significant knowledge and experience of tachograph/driving rules and regulations.
2. Qualifications: CPC National is desirable but not essential.
3. Management Experience: Previous management or supervisory experience.
4. Skills: Strong planning and organising skills, high level of numeracy, and excellent negotiating skills with the ability to influence and steer.
5. Efficiency Under Pressure: Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
6. Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours.
