About the role
As our Technology Engineering Senior Product Manager, you'll spearhead the Technology Engineering function across Bakkavor Group IT with full ownership of the Technology Engineering strategy, tooling and delivery. Your experience and leadership will be key to shaping and evolving the function as the company's Technology journey matures.
You will lead an established team of talented software developers, alongside an infrastructure provisioning and technology platform operations team.
You will be accountable for end-to-end technology delivery - defining strategy, provisioning new technology, commissioning new technology into operational use and, finally, technology optimisation and evolution.
Your ability to drive technology change will be underpinned by the application of recognised best practice and adherence to sound architectural and security principles. Your leadership will see the company's technology-enabled future advanced at pace.
You will be an experienced technology delivery lead who is well-versed in the capabilities of modern technology platforms and how to combine them to create effective, high-performing business solutions. Your hands-on technology engineering delivery experience will set you apart from others. You will be able to demonstrate good experience on Microsoft Landing Zone design & deployment, SAP RISE design & deployment, and the effective management of embedding new technologies into 'business as usual' IT operations. You will be an effective leader of teams with an exceptional ability to bring people together to work on complex technology delivery programmes. You will be comfortable operating at all levels of the organisation, with an ability to articulate complex technology concepts and ideas in an engaging and straightforward way.
Your responsibilities for software development will span two development teams - an integration team and a Web application development team. You will oversee the entire software development lifecycle and ensure our IT applications perform seamlessly as we implement our transformational SAP S4/HANA, Microsoft Azure hosted solution. Equally, you will be accountable for the smooth operation of our established non-SAP/S4 application and integration estate and its interoperability with our cloud-based SAP/S4 solution as our Vision transformation programme advances. You will guide and evolve the teams to support the Group IT transformation strategy, ensuring world-class cloud-based solutions and associated technologies are in place to support the business.
As a Technology Engineering Senior Product Manager, you will engineer technical solutions for business improvement projects and support the existing Group IT application and integration estate. You will be a key figure within the Group IT Business Systems leadership team. As a leader you will foster an environment that challenges the status quo and delivers high-quality, innovative solutions. This role spans various business processes and requires extensive technical experience, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and a proven leadership track record in technology delivery programs.
Your role will require you to work collaboratively and closely with other Group IT functions and wider business stakeholder groups. You will leverage highly effective vendor and partner relationships, built on proven experience and competency in technology delivery. You will work closely with the technical teams in the Infrastructure & Operations Technology (I&OT) IT function, and the I&OT Product teams who support the delivery of business improvement projects outside of the Group IT transformation programme. Your effective engagement with Service Delivery and Security & Governance teams is fundamental to the successful execution of your role.
