The Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology is now recruiting a full time, permanent HR Administrative Assistant who will support the smooth running of key administrative functions within the Department, primarily assisting the HR Administrator and the HR Manager, with occasional support to other managers and academic staff. In particular, the post holder will assist the HR Administrator and HR Manager, and at times the Postgraduate Administrator by taking lead responsibility for particular aspects of HR, graduate administration, and research-related matters and procedures, also providing general assistance in these areas as may be required. The HR Administrative Assistant might be asked to cover reception during short breaks and during short-term absences, with the approval of the HR Administrator. They will also provide ad hoc general administrative support to members of the Department (such as assisting with arranging meetings, making meeting room bookings, taking minutes, preparing documents). The post holder is expected to take a proactive and flexible approach to their work and will have relevant administrative experience and excellent organisational skills. Experience of working within higher education in a related area or previous experience within the University of Cambridge would be an advantage. The post is full-time, working 36.5 hours per week over 5 week days. This role is office based at the start of the employment to provide face to face support for queries, but also to facilitate learning. However, there could be some degree of flexibility over the contractual hours and times.
