What you'll be doing:
The role purpose is to provide 2nd line analysis, challenge and insight of the risk profile and key enterprise risks (including horizon risks) arising within People’s Partnership, together with associated high-quality reporting. The role will support the Head of Risk Advisory in ensuring adherence to the risk framework, monitoring of associated risk appetites across the group, and the management of the Operational Resilience programme. As part of this role, there will be an expectation that internal and external information sources will be monitored to assist in providing insights to internal risk identification and assessments.
The role will lead on the analysis of risk, control, and incident data and in reporting to governance forums, as well as designing and delivering a regular program of thematic work by the risk function.
Key Responsibilities:
● Assist with the delivery of the risk functions business plan.
● Assist with the collation of the required risk management information to monitor KRI’s, performance and exposure of risks across the business.
● Assist with the risk and controls assessment programme.
● Assist the Risk Manager and risk department with other tasks as may be required from time to time.
● Support the timely review of all key internal policies.
● Support the timely review of system permission checks.
What we’re looking for:
● Responsible for analysing risk data produced by the GRC system and from the Risk Business Partners, providing comment on:
o Key risk trends and hotspots
o Key Risk Indicators and monitoring against appetites.
o Internal risk profile relative to industry norms
o Integrity of risk assessments relative to observed incidents, frequency of issues and incidents
o Areas of risk overlap or gaps in risk profile
o Adequacy of action plans and paths to future target state
o Integrity of data relative to agreed Risk taxonomy by identifying instances of mis-categorisation or misidentification.
What you can expect from us:
● Extensive experience within a risk function and solid understanding of risk management framework/processes.
● Ability to challenge business stakeholders and counterparts objectively and effectively.
● Ability to analyse complex business and risk issues/situations.
● Exposure to risk management in an investment business, including market and liquidity risk.
● Good knowledge and practical use of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint).
● Ability to demonstrate flexibility and resilience.
● Ability to find innovative solutions, seek improvements and adapt to changing situations.
● Ability to understand, interpret, apply and communicate complex information.
● Credible at Senior Level.
