Role Overview
As an initial member of the AI & Data team, you will lead the creation of a data strategy to support groundbreaking research. The data domain lead must love attention to detail and be excited by data management. This is a hands-on role where you will drive data management processes that ensure that data is accessible and of the highest quality. With significant experience within the health domain, you will bring your industry expertise to the table and support programme teams in the creation of the data ecosystem for the organisation.
Responsibilities:
* Embedded Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a domain expert within project teams, providing specialised knowledge and offering tailored data-driven solutions to meet specific challenges and goals.
* Strategic Data Integration: Partner with project teams in the early stages to shape research data strategies, define requirements, and explore innovative approaches to maximise the value of data.
* Data Preparation & Quality Control: Take the lead in evaluating, refining, and structuring datasets to ensure they are relevant, high-quality, and aligned with project requirements and broader industry standards.
* Collaborative Partnerships: Work closely with technical specialists, including data engineers and scientists, to deliver polished, analytics-ready datasets seamlessly integrated into the organisation’s data infrastructure.
* Data Oversight: Manage datasets effectively by optimising usage, addressing quality issues proactively, and ensuring they meet regulatory and organisational standards.
* Governance & Risk Management: Guide compliance, ethics, and governance, ensuring robust data stewardship and mitigating risks such as bias or data misuse.
* Industry Awareness & Adaptation: Stay informed about evolving trends, standards, and practices within the field, applying innovative insights to enhance the organisation’s data capabilities.
* Ecosystem Development: Contribute to shaping the organisation’s data ecosystem, recommending and implementing scalable, efficient solutions to support growth.
* Knowledge Building: Promote learning and knowledge-sharing within the organisation by curating best practices and contributing to a comprehensive resource library focused on data excellence.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Educational Background: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
* Professional Experience: At least five years of industry experience
* Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in SQL, with a proven ability to query and analyse large datasets effectively.
* Analytical Expertise: Ability to translate complex concepts into actionable insights, using in-depth knowledge of domain-specific data analysis frameworks.
* Data Management Acumen: Strong grasp of data governance and management practices, with the ability to drive high standards across projects.
* Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional stakeholder engagement abilities, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across diverse teams.
