Hi, we’re Aegon. Maybe you’ve heard of us? Maybe you haven’t. But there’s a good chance you know someone that we manage money for. We’ve got almost 4 million customers in the UK. That's 1 in 10 UK adults!
We help people live their best lives. We help them with the big stuff, for the moments that matter: Pensions, Savings, Investments. At Aegon, we strive to create a diverse organisation that plays a meaningful role in driving greater equity, inclusion, and belonging.
The Opportunity:
Aegon is offering a Customer Contact Apprenticeship designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in a customer service role in the financial services industry.
What you’ll do:
1. Engage with customers. Provide exceptional service to our customers via phone, email, and chat addressing their inquiries and helping to resolve their requests.
2. Learn and Grow: Receive comprehensive training and development including industry-recognised qualification (SCQF level 6 - Customer Service in Financial Services).
3. Collaborate: Work closely with your team and other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
What we’re looking for:
1. Maths at a National 4 level and English at a National 5 level.
2. Good communication skills – verbal and written.
3. A strong motivation to learn and develop.
What’s in it for you?
1. A permanent job offer upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, on condition that you’re meeting expectations in the role too.
2. Full support throughout your qualification.
3. A non-contributory pension between 8%-12%.
4. A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance.
5. 34 days leave per year (including bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time).
We also offer private medical cover, life assurance, critical illness cover, enhanced parental leave, and a variety of lifestyle benefits to help our staff live their best lives, including retail discount vouchers, cycle2work scheme, subsidised restaurants, and online GP appointments.
What Happens Next?
The first step in our process is designed to find out more about you, your skills, and behaviours. You’ll initially be invited via email to undertake a short series of games/tasks to help us learn a bit more about you. These are designed and officiated by our partner Arctic Shores (the email will come from them as well!). Candidates successful at that stage will be contacted to arrange time for a screening call. If that goes well and you are happy to progress, you will be invited to interview in person at our Edinburgh office on Thursday 24th April 2025.
We like to do things a bit differently, so be prepared for an imaginative and immersive assessment experience…. Don’t worry, we’ll tell you more about this when the time is right, first things first, Apply now!!!
The legal bits
We will need you to confirm you have the right to work in the UK. If we offer you a job and you accept, there are some checks we need to complete before you can start with us. This will include a credit and criminal record check, as well as providing satisfactory references. You will be required to attend one of our offices in person with your right-to-work documentation.
Equal Opportunity Employer:
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their age, disability, race, religion/belief, gender, sexual orientation or gender identity.
