About the Role
Your role will be to provide administrative support within the Firearms Licensing Department, ensuring a high level of customer service and data quality, and providing a solid foundation for day to day business
.
Key Accountabilities will be and not limited to;
1. To be part of a team that are responsible for a range of clerical tasks in connection with firearm, shotgun and explosives certificates, including, but not limited to: • opening, sorting and distributing post • sending out standard letters • converting paper documents to digital (scanning) • The processing of: application forms and associated documents fee payments GP correspondence notifications of the transfer of firearms and shotguns visitors permits and European Firearm Passes change of address notices cancellation or replacement of certificates
2. Use Force computer systems for the management of customer records and electronic document storage.
3. Assist with telephone calls and emails from members of the public and police colleagues, providing general advice on the business of the department, or referring the enquiry to another team member.
4. Maintain personal responsibility for complying with Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, the Force Purpose, Force Policies and Procedures and Data Protection (GDPR), all of which are in accordance with the values of the Code of Ethics.
5. Give regular and effective service.

Essential Qualifications
Educated to QCF Level 2 (3 to 5 GCSE to include Maths and English) OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.
