We are recruiting Sessional /Bank Residential Support Workers for our new home in Plymouth, Devon. Our home is for ages 16+ in a supported living setting.
As a Sessional Residential Support Worker, you will teach and guide our young people to prepare for independent living, participate in and plan activities to support them with school and college work, and support our young people who may have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences and trauma using our trauma-informed practices, which are embedded within our culture.
The Five Rivers leadership team will invest in your progression as a professional in the childcare sector. We source and deliver up-to-date training opportunities and prioritize and discuss your personal development goals to ensure you get the most out of your career.
Our young people may have had many adults come in and out of their lives, often adding to their trauma. Therefore, we are looking for committed and dedicated Senior Residential Support Workers. You’ll be a natural at building a rapport with young people and full of empathy, so you can understand and relate to the young people you work with.
In this role, you need to be emotionally aware and resilient to be able to support the young people and the staff team you will be working with.
To become a Sessional Residential Support Worker, you must hold a minimum Level 3 or Equivalent in Residential Child Care.
Hours
Within this role, you can be flexible and let us know when you are available for shifts to support our young people. The home is open 365 days a year, 7 days a week, so we can accommodate your hours; you will receive an additional £50 per sleep-in.
Working alone with young people will also be expected in this home. A driver’s licence is essential for this role. You must commit to the training Five Rivers provides for this home, as well as the monthly team meetings and reflective space.
