The Role and Department
The Operations Directorate: Elevating the Student and Staff Experience
The Operations Directorate is integral to the Colleges and Student Experience Division, dedicated to providing a world-class experience for our diverse student and staff communities. Our passionate team delivers services and facilities across 15 colleges, including catering, housekeeping, reception, security, and maintenance.
The Role
Residential Services Assistants (RSAs) cover multiple areas of a College and work in a supportive team carrying out legal compliance checks such as Legionella, security patrols to ensure the safety of buildings and residents. Responsibilities also include setting up meeting rooms, undertaking minor repairs and maintenance tasks and ensuring larger scale maintenance issues are reported to Estates & Facilities. During out of hours, RSAs are the first point of contact for all welfare and buildings issues, and provide emergency response and reception cover.
Specific Role Information
Contracts are up to any 5 days from 7 which may include bank holidays, nights and weekends. All contracts are 35 hours a week, full time and permanent.

* Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
* Experience of working in a team.
* Experience of managing time to meet deadlines.
* Ability to follow instructions, spoken or written, accurately.
* Ability to follow health and safety guidelines.
* An interest or understanding of working in a buildings, estates, services, or IT provision area.
Desirable Criteria
* Full Drivers Licence (May be essential for certain colleges / roles).
* Experience of working in a buildings or estates services area.
