We are currently seeking a skilled Payroll Manager to join a well-established accountancy firm in the Abingdon area. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead the payroll department and manage a large portfolio of clients.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and oversee the payroll department to ensure efficient processing of monthly payrolls.
* Act as the first point of contact for clients with payroll-related queries, providing excellent client service and support.
* Handle communications with clients via phone and email, ensuring their payroll needs are met promptly.
* Assist with filings to Companies House, including company secretarial services.
* Provide support with client registrations and HMRC matters.
* Contribute to credit control efforts as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
* A minimum of 3 years' payroll experience, ideally gained within an accountancy firm.
* Full UK driving license is preferred.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Experience with Xero accounting software is advantageous but not essential.
* Proactive attitude, capable of working independently in a small team environment.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
