Job overview
As an IPS Employment Specialist, you will be part of the PATH Team, helping individuals with First Episode Psychosis (FEP) secure and sustain meaningful employment as part of their recovery. You will work alongside mental health professionals in a multi-disciplinary team, providing Individual Placement and Support (IPS) to service users.

Role
As an Employment Specialist (ES) within the Prevention, Assessment, and Treatment in Hertfordshire (PATH) team, you will provide IPS employment support to service users who are currently unemployed and wish to gain paid employment as part of their recovery goals.
You will carry a caseload of up to 25 service users, providing a high-quality, tailored employment service for adults of all ages with First Episode Psychosis (FEP).
You will also work closely with employers, training providers, and community networks to create opportunities for service users while offering ongoing support to ensure job retention.
Responsibilities
* Support unemployed service users with First Episode Psychosis (FEP) in their journey to secure paid employment.
* Assist service users with vocational profiling & action planning to identify skills, aspirations, and employment goals.
* Conduct rapid job searches, working alongside service users to connect them with local employers and training providers.
* Engage with employers to explore reasonable workplace adjustments and ensure sustained job placements.
* Develop relationships with external agencies, colleges, and supported employment services to expand employment opportunities.
* Provide education and support to employers, including return-to-work strategies and workplace adjustments.
* Offer individualised post-employment support to help service users maintain their job and manage challenges.
* Meet and exceed job outcome targets by successfully supporting individuals into sustained employment.
The person
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A passion for supporting individuals with mental health conditions in their employment journey.
* Strong communication and networking skills to engage with employers, service users, and external partners.
* The ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* A solution-focused and adaptable approach to supporting people with diverse needs.
* Ability to use Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to support administrative tasks and reporting.
* Experience in employment support, mental health services, or vocational rehabilitation is desirable but not essential—full training in IPS will be provided.
