Continental Europe PFAS Market Lead We are looking for a Continental Europe PFAS Market Lead (Location -flexible hybrid working) At a National, European and Global scale, JACOBS continue to lead the way in developing critical solutions to counter the impact of emerging contaminants such as PFAS. Working within a team of industry thought, policy and solutions leaders and specialists throughout the UK and Europe. In this newly created role you will support the continued growth and delivery of a complex portfolio of environmental site characterization and remediation, permitting, and compliance projects across various environmental media (soil, groundwater, soil gas, surface & industrial water and sediment) to diverse industrial processes and industries, such as Chemical, Pharma, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Electronics and Consumer Products. Remit and responsibilities of your role will include: The development of our capability footprint, technologies, solutions and processes across all areas of environmental remediation to manage risks caused by PFAS ensuring all regulatory requirements are met. Support Business Growth and Project Management teams in the winning and delivery of complex environmental site characterization and remediation, permitting, and compliance projects across all sectors. Drive individual, company and technical innovation, initiatives and solutions. Collaborate with and support multi-functional, highly technical disciplines, experts and teams such as Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, Chemistry, Risk Assessment & Process Engineering, developing solutions that are in line with Customer and Industry demands. Collate and deliver complex technical information, reports and interpretations to clients and regulatory stakeholders in a readily understandable manner. Ensure all services and solutions meet and exceed Regulatory Requirements, Ethics, Health & Safety and Quality Control in all work areas. Continuously engage with External Industry Networks ensuring ability to brand professional and organization expertise (presentations and key note speeches at technical conferences, chairing events, alongside contributing to articles, position papers. Qualifications BS, MS, or PhD degree geology, hydrogeology, civil/environmental engineering, or related field Minimum 15 years of experience in soil/groundwater investigations and remediation and broader environmental consultancy Proven track record of successful client development and sales experience including preparing proposals and leading the delivery of work for PFAS and other emerging contaminants Experience with various environmental media (soil, groundwater, soil gas, surface & industrial water and sediment) in fate and transport of contaminants, risk management, interpretation of groundwater flow and implementation of various treatment / remediation technologies. Solid knowledge and understanding of REACH regulations, process and product stewardship related to PFAS presence or replacement materials in diverse industrial processes (for example Chemical, Pharma, Manufacturing, electronics) and consumer products. An understanding of the evolving regulatory framework in Europe and diverse countries and industrial sectors Engaged in External Industry Networks and ability to brand professional and organization expertise (presentations and key note speeches at technical conferences, chairing events, contributing to articles, position paper, etc) The ideal candidate will have a good blend of the following skills and knowledge: Relevant industry experience as Senior Technical Consultant for emerging contaminants at National, European or Global scale Good communication and interpersonal skills including experience with client interactions and relationship development. Demonstrated experience presenting complex technical information and interpretations to clients and regulatory stakeholders in a readily understandable manner. Experience supporting Project Managers (PMs) and Sales professionals in winning and delivering complex environmental site characterization and remediation, permitting, and compliance projects for commercial and governmental clients. History of effective collaboration with multiple technical disciplines including experts in environmental engineering, hydrogeology, chemistry, risk assessment & process engineering Demonstrates the highest standards of Ethics, Inclusion & Diversity, Health & Safety and Quality Control in all work Ability to be a team player while also being able to drive individual initiatives.
