Senior Quantity Surveyor

Role:
We are currently looking with a Leading Residential Company who work as both a Main Contractor and Developer building both affordable housing and speculative developments. Together we are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead a £90m high-rise scheme in East London. The project will deliver 600 mixed tenure new homes in 4 tower blocks (up to 18 storeys). It will also include new commercial facilities, community spaces, gardens and play areas.
This is a hybrid role based between my client's office in Essex and the site in East London. It will also offer the opportunity for some home working for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
1. Manage all aspects of cost planning, budgeting, and financial control throughout project lifecycles, ensuring projects are delivered on budget and to the highest standards.
2. Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate tender documents, contracts, and subcontractor agreements in line with company and industry standards.
3. Conduct regular cost analysis, valuations, and progress reports to support effective project decision-making.
4. Liaise with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain efficient workflows and resolve financial or contractual disputes.
5. Oversee procurement processes, including materials, labor, and services, ensuring value for money and quality.
6. Monitor project risks, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement value engineering strategies.
7. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, contract obligations, and company policies.
Requirements
1. BSC Hons Quantity Surveying or equivalent
2. Proven track record working on new-build projects (e.g., residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments).
3. Familiarity with construction contracts like JCT and NEC.
4. Experience leading teams of junior quantity surveyors.
