Position Overview
The Creative Industries department at Brighton MET has an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Technician in Media, Film and Broadcast to join our brilliant team.
The role is to support teaching and learning in our fantastic Film and Media department and is a great opportunity for a film or media practitioner to join Brighton MET at an exciting time in this industry.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support students at our regular live broadcasts from Brighton Dome, usually taking place in the evenings.
2. Assist students with their learning and projects.
3. Provide demonstrations in the Mac labs, podcast suite, or film studios when required.
4. Ensure all film and media equipment is serviced and ready for use in lessons and for loans.
5. Ensure student safety in the studios and the safe operation of all equipment in the specialist studios and work areas.
6. Responsible for booking out specialist equipment to staff and students and ensuring its safe return.
7. Conduct regular servicing and maintenance of equipment, and manage the purchase of consumables and equipment.
8. Assist in the set-up of our renowned End of Year show, which takes place every June.
Qualifications
Ideally, candidates should have a strong working knowledge of film and creative media and a degree in film or a related subject.
