An exciting opportunity has come up to join the Theatres, Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine directorate as the Service Manager for Anaesthetics and Data Quality.
We are looking for an enthusiastic manager with a strong operational background managing both inpatient and outpatient clinical services, excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering high quality patient care.
The Service Manager (SM) is accountable to the General Manager and Clinical Leads. The purpose of the SM is responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of services to patients in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, controls and resource constraints.
The SM will also be responsible for delivering delegated improvements within a service to meet patient expectations as well as ensure the required capacity to meet key clinical performance targets.
The post holder will also offer a high level of support to the senior management team.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for overseeing daily operations in Anaesthetics and Data Quality. This includes managing services to meet performance targets, resolving operational issues, and ensuring compliance with Trust policies. The role involves managing staff deployment, anticipating shortages, and addressing performance and disciplinary matters, while ensuring clinical and medical rotas are effectively managed.
The Service Manager is also tasked with implementing risk management and governance processes, resolving complaints, and ensuring compliance with governance standards. They are responsible for managing budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and supporting business case development to meet service needs.
Additionally, the Service Manager leads on service improvement and strategic initiatives, contributing to modernising patient care and aligning services with Trust and NHS objectives.

The Service Manager is pivotal in ensuring operational performance and leading service improvements and redesign.
