You will need to have passion for this sector and eager to learn to use manual lathes., milling and drilling machines.
You will also need to have
* some exposure to this type of work whether that be in work or in education.
* experience in a manufacturing environment
* a keen interest in learning a wide range of machining methods
* great attention to detail
* experience in reading and understanding technical drawings
Your role will involve:
* machining parts from drawings
* using gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
* recognising and using fixtures and tooling
* learning how to and then performing tool wear offsets
* regularly cleaning and light maintenance on machinery
* complying with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions
