Role Overview: The Financial Audit Data Analytics Specialist will be integral to our financial audit team, utilising data analytics to enhance audit processes and outcomes. This role requires expertise in data extraction, analysis, and visualisation, aimed at supporting financial audits achieve higher quality, efficiency, and insight in in their audits, through the use of innovative data enabled audit delivery solutions. Key Responsibilities: Data Extraction and Analysis: Utilise tools such as Alteryx, SQL, and IDEA/ACL to extract and analyse data from ERP systems (MS Dynamics, NetSuite) and various accounting packages (Agresso, Sage, Xero). Solution Development: Design and implement data-driven solutions to address specific challenges faced by the financial audit team, including automating reconciliation processes and consolidating data for reporting. Business Analysis: Collaborate with financial audit teams to understand their specific issues and requirements. Use analytical skills to design and develop tailored data analytics solutions that effectively address these challenges. Data Requirements Understanding: Identify and clarify data requirements by engaging with clients to determine what data is needed and the specific asks from the client, ensuring that solutions are aligned with audit objectives. Data Visualisation: Create compelling visualisations using tools like Power BI to present analytical findings, making complex data insights accessible and actionable for audit teams and stakeholders. Collaboration: Work closely with audit teams to identify data needs and provide analytical support, ensuring that insights are relevant to audit objectives. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with client contacts in finance and technical data roles, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. Reporting and Presentation: Present analytical findings and insights clearly, ensuring relevance in the context of audit objectives. Qualifications: Experience: At least 5 years of experience in data analytics, specifically supporting financial audits. Qualification – A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA) is desirable. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Alteryx, SQL, and data analysis tools such as IDEA/ACL. Strong experience with ERP systems (MS Dynamics, NetSuite) and accounting software (Agresso, Sage, Xero). Data Visualisation Skills: Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create insightful dashboards and reports. Business Analyst Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex business problems and translate them into effective data solutions. Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to develop innovative data solutions that address complex audit challenges. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build strong relationships. Communication: Ability to convey complex data insights clearly through excellent verbal and written communication. Additional Responsibilities: Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior team members in data analytics techniques and tools. Process Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of data processes and solutions to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance with internal standards. Project Management: Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring timely delivery of data analytics support for audit engagements.
