Part-Time Teaching Assistant (Year 1) Location: Barnoldswick (BB18) Start Date: February 2024 Contract Length: Until the end of the academic year Pay rate: £12.90 - £14.50 per hour We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Year 1 team at a school in Barnoldwick, starting in February 2024 and continuing until the end of the academic year. This is a part-time role, requiring availability from Monday to Wednesday. In this role, you will support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons, assist with the development and learning of individual students, particularly in literacy and phonics, and help children develop key skills in reading, writing, and numeracy. You will also provide support to children with additional needs, working with them in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, and help with classroom management to maintain a positive learning environment. Additionally, you will assist with the preparation of learning resources and activities. We are looking for someone with previous experience working with young children, ideally in an educational setting, and a strong understanding of phonics to support early reading skills. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work effectively as part of a team and possess a patient, caring, and proactive approach to working with children. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will need to interact with children, staff, and parents, and you should be committed to supporting the school’s values and fostering a positive learning environment.
