Leave your mark on one of Glasgow's largest construction projects to date working as a Senior Planner of our HMP Glasgow major project This major, high value contract is your opportunity to get involved in a major new-build prison project, using design for manufacture and assembly (DMFA) methods to deliver a secure, energy efficient and high specification prison. Location: Glasgow, Scotland - role will be based on site with opportunity to work flexibly as appropriate Contract: Permanent, full-time What will you be responsible for? Delivering a state-of-the-art prison is no easy feat, but the experience you will gain along the way is completely unmatched. With rehabilitation and security at the very focus of the designs, HMP Glasgow will see you getting involved in a range of works including delivering six housing blocks, medical facilities to serve 1,344 people, onsite catering facilities, and education and leisure facilities - all of these needing to be incorporated into the campus. As a Senior Planner at Kier working on HMP Glasgow, you will be key to succesful delivery of Kier Constructions largest project, your days will be varied but may include:
* Working with the leadership team and sub contract supply chain of planning, phasing, programming and sequencing, including the coordination of design, commercial and production activities into one truly Integrated Programme.
* Creating of look ahead programmes, individual trade package programmes, monitoring and updating progress and undertaking regular progress monitoring drop lines.
* Developing ideas to drive improvement and consistency in the timely delivery of work fronts throughout the project.
* Advise on affect of any project slippage on existing programmes and update accordingly.
* Work closely with Project teams to assist in the production of accurate progress reports.
* Generally offering subject matter expertise and mentoring more junior members of planning team by sharing knowledge
* Who are we looking for? Due to the wide scope we're looking to deliver, the project will thrive on a wide range of experience derived from prior delivery of major construction projects.
* Relevant construction qualification - Degree, HND, SVQ or equivalent.
* Experience working on high value construction schemes within the main contractor environment
* Comfort using planning software - Asta / Primavera or Microsoft Project.
* Excellent communication skills, able to work across teams in an advisory capacity and collaborate across departments.
* Full UK Driving license
