Barclays is seeking a dedicated Operational Governance Assurance Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving operational governance and process improvement across CRES (Corporate Real Estate Services). This exciting opportunity involves supporting the Operational Governance Team in managing and enhancing control frameworks while ensuring effective risk and process remediation. To be successful as a Operational Governance Assurance Manager, you should have experience with: Risk and control experience in Financial, Risk Management, Facilities. Management or Corporate Real Estate sectors. Controls assurance testing experience. Process review and mapping. This will be located at our Knutsford office. Overall purpose of role The key purpose of this role is to support the Operational Governance Team in driving forward control and process remediation across CRES. This role will be administrating the department's Operational Risk and Control (ORAC) risk issue and risk event data entries and following up with stakeholders across the department to ensure remediation activity is undertaken in a timely and effective manner. Accountabilities Understanding the CRES & Location Strategy services and operations, the underlying risks that the function is impacted by and the associated control environment to help mitigate these Testing operational processes operated by the function (including its suppliers) and assessing the effectiveness of process design and operation. Supporting the enhancement of the control environment by identifying process weaknesses and improvements, whilst offering recommendations for the business to design solutions and implement if/as relevant Helping embed the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and appropriate Operational Risk Standards requirements. This will require co-ordination across senior stakeholders, First, Second, and Third lines of defence, as well as Risk and Control owners Assistant Vice President Expectations To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions. Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function. Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues. Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda. Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done. Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organization sub-function. Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy. Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practices (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
