Overview
We are seeking a Health and Safety (H&S) Advisor with a construction bias to join our team and support our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. As an H&S Advisor, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining relationships with construction teams across the East Midlands region, promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations specific to the area.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend control measures, with a focus on construction-specific risks in the East Midlands region.
2. Perform site inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices, tailored to the construction industry.
3. Develop and deliver H&S training programs tailored to construction activities in the East Midlands to help educate employees on safe work practices specific to the region.
4. Investigate construction-related accidents or near-miss incidents within the East Midlands region and collaborate with management to implement corrective actions.
5. Provide expert advice on construction-specific H&S policies, procedures, and relevant legislation to ensure compliance with regional regulations in the East Midlands.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the construction industry within the East Midlands to promote a proactive approach to health and safety in the workplace specific to the region.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience in conducting construction-specific risk assessments and site inspections within a similar role, specifically within the East Midlands region.
2. In-depth knowledge of construction health and safety regulations and best practices.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with construction workers at all levels.
4. Relevant certification or qualifications in construction health and safety management, such as NEBOSH certification with a construction bias.
5. Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations for continuous improvement in H&S processes within the construction industry.
Day-to-day
1. Performing on-site risk assessments and inspections with a focus on construction activities in the East Midlands region.
2. Collaborating with construction teams in the East Midlands to develop and deliver H&S training programs tailored to construction sites in the area.
3. Engaging with construction workers to promote a positive safety culture within the construction industry.
4. Investigating and reporting on construction-related accidents or near-misses.
5. Reviewing and updating H&S policies and procedures to align with legislation and best practices in the construction sector.
