We are looking for keen, interested persons who are ready to learn and develop both as people and responsible clinicians. As a senior physiotherapist you would be given responsibilities and training that reflect your current level of practice and then encouraged to manage a larger, more complex caseload as your skills are tested and improve over time.
The role would be joining a purely musculoskeletal and orthopaedic service where you would have an excellent training and CPD program, regular mentoring from senior clinicians, and subsidised external training courses. In addition, there is currently no on call rota or weekend working.
The Wiltshire Health and Care NHS partnership have self-referral to the Physiotherapy Outpatients service, and we benefit from shared patient records with GPs and other healthcare providers. We are developing more advanced career pathways in GP practices and ESP clinics, creating secondment opportunities in Acute/Specialist hospital settings or community teams to fulfill future career aspirations, and invest in our staff long term proficiencies.
The MSK service for Wiltshire is based in 11 community hospitals /Facilities and additional GP clinics with excellent links to our acute hospitals in Bath, Salisbury, and Swindon. Alongside MSK Physiotherapy we deliver services in Hand Therapy, Rheumatology, Womens and Mens Health and Amputees.
We are looking for a friendly, professional, and self-motivated Physiotherapist or Occupational therapist to join our Hand Therapy Service based in Wiltshire. This is a rare opportunity to specialise in an area that is not always available to Therapists, and offers an exciting, challenging, and diverse career choice to develop specialist assessment and treatment skills including splint fabrication. This post will initially be based in Melksham, but there may be an expectation to work in other locations as the service needs demand.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent assessment and clinical reasoning skills within a variety of musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, and general health conditions, and a solid grounding in Specialist Hand Therapy would be preferable but not essential. Good communication skills with a variety of people, conditions and within demanding situations will be an asset. You will join a friendly team with other Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy staff and ESP clinicians. There are excellent training opportunities within fracture clinics, ESP-led Orthopaedic clinics, and MSK pathway projects that are currently ongoing in these departments.
The successful candidate will possess a friendly, professional attitude to supplement their good MSK and Hand skills knowledge.
