We are a highly successful integrated therapy service with a pooled budget across health and social care since 2013. Although based in East Sussex, we are employed by KCHFT which is an outstanding trust.
We are an assessment and advice service as well as providing interventions to children and young people using evidence-based approaches including Sensory Integrative informed practice in line with RCOT, trauma-informed care, Cognitive Orientation to Occupational Performance, Neurodevelopmental approach and with a focus on enabling.
We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist with a minimum of 4 years post qualification experience in paediatrics with an interest in neurodevelopmental conditions.
This post is for a Band 7 Occupational Therapist in the neighbourhood team which includes children or young people from 0-19 years across early years settings, mainstream schools and in the community.
The post-holder will work closely with the Therapy One Point team of therapists and as part of an integrated therapy team including Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists including Adaptation specialists and Integrated Therapy Assistants.
Main duties of the job
1. To work within an integrated children's therapy team including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and therapy assistants for children aged 0-19.
2. To provide a highly specialist lead role in Paediatric OT and to lead on policy development across East Sussex Children's Integrated Therapy Service (ESCITS).
3. To be responsible for managing a complex and specialist clinical caseload and to act as a specialist resource to the Locality team and other professionals and agencies.
4. To be responsible for the management supervision and clinical supervision of identified staff within the team in collaboration with the Professional Leads and/or Locality Clinical Managers.
5. To be responsible for ensuring the team provides a high quality and cost effective clinical service to disabled children/young people and their families in collaboration with the Professional Leads and Locality Clinical Managers.
6. To be responsible for ensuring that all team members are working to agreed care pathway(s).
7. To report to and advise the Professional Leads and/or Locality Clinical Manager of the teams' development within a specialist clinical area to ensure it is in line with the organisation's business objectives.

Qualifications
* Holds OT qualification, is HCPC registered.

Experience
* Minimum of 5 years paediatric experience.
* In depth and recent (in the last 2 years) experience in a specialist clinical area.
* Evidence of continued professional development in area of clinical specialism.
* Experience of providing line supervision and/or clinical supervision in area of clinical specialism.
* Experience of implementing service re-design within clinical area.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of evidence based practice and ability to implement in clinical practice.
* Knowledge of current local and national policies relevant to health, social care and education.
Skills and Abilities
* Ability to motivate and lead staff.
* Excellent presentation skills both written and verbal.
