Role Overview
As Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading both internal Customer Account Managers and external Area Sales Managers, setting the tone for performance, motivation, and customer engagement. You’ll take the lead on new business development, strategic account growth, and supporting the wider commercial goals of the branch.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading, coaching, and supporting a team of Sales and Account Managers to meet and exceed targets
* Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, both existing and new
* Driving performance through motivation, structured goal setting, and accountability
* Identifying new sales opportunities and nurturing long-term partnerships
* Ensuring the branch’s sales strategy aligns with broader company objectives
* Providing hands-on support for key account negotiations, tenders, and pricing discussions
* Collaborating with operations and senior leadership to ensure excellent service delivery
* Monitoring KPIs and preparing reports for branch performance and team development
What We’re Looking For
This role calls for a natural leader with a strong commercial mindset, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to make sound decisions under pressure.
You will ideally bring:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in B2B sales, customer service, or sales operations
* At least 2 years in a leadership or team management role
* Strong business acumen and a commercial approach to customer relationships
* A proactive, hands-on leadership style with a team-first attitude
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and CRM systems
* A full UK driving licence (preferred)
* Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings or training
