CARETAKER
Working hours: 37 hours per week and overtime; we would consider applications to work part-time.
The successful candidate is expected to work 7.5 hours a day Monday-Thursday and 7 hours Friday, with flexibility in hours according to the School's requirements.
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday
Monday - 7.30-10.30 am / 4.00-6.00 pm
Tuesday - 7.30-10.30 am / 4.00-6.00 pm
Wednesday - 7.30-10.30 am / 4.00-6.00 pm
Thursday - 7.30-10.30 am / 4.00-6.00 pm
Friday - 7.30-10.30 am / 4.00-6.00 pm

Pay Scale: Salary paid in accordance with Working Conditions for Local Government Employees, GS3 Scale, points 5 -6, (£24,790 - £25,183).

Job Description
POST TITLE: SCHOOL CARETAKER
PAY SCALE: Local Government Employees Scale - GS3 Scale, points 5-6.
WORKING CONDITIONS: In accordance with Gwynedd Council's National and supplementary local working conditions for NJC staff and manual workers.
Ordinary Working Hours: 37 hours per week (not including breaks)
LINE MANAGER: The Headteacher through the Business and Finance Manager.
Duties:
All members of staff are expected to implement reasonable requests or instructions given by the Headteacher and/or their representative, acting according to the school's policies.
Purpose:
• Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are central to everything we do.
• Supervise the School buildings to ensure that they are safe.
• Responsible for ensuring the effective running of the school, ensuring rooms and services are available and in order for teachers and others.
• Routinely clean specified areas on the school premises to promote health.
• Monitor the safety and condition of the buildings.
• Manage Health and Safety requirements.
• Care for external contractors.
• Maintenance and dealing with emergencies.
• Key Holder for the School.
Daily Tasks:
• Unlock all gates and switch off the alarm system. Unlock all entrance and classroom doors before opening the School in the morning.
• Ensure that the heating system works at the right level before opening the School.
• Clean and clear rubbish around the building before staff and pupils arrive.
• Inform the Business and Finance Manager of any damage to school property.
• Ensure that all lights are switched off and heaters are set appropriately when closing the building.
• Prevent trespassing on the school's land and buildings.
Weekly/Monthly Tasks:
• Keep drain and gutter traps clean.
• Monitor the use of electricity, gas, and water.
• Maintain and repair minor damage to facilities.
• Collaborate with testing of fire equipment and ensure fire prevention equipment is in place.
General:
• Comply with the school's Health and Safety Policy and risk assessments.
• A commitment to reduce the Council's carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan. #J-18808-Ljbffr
