Job summary
To undertake the duties associated with the operation of the four boilers and combined heat and power plant located within the Energy Centre at Doncaster Royal infirmary as well as routine maintenance and minor repair work to building services within the hospital site.
You should have experience of gas / oil fired steam raising boiler plant and possess the boiler operators certificate of the City and Guilds of London Institute or recognised equivalent.

Main duties of the job
In addition to the duties of Maintenance Assistant, and the accepted duties of general boiler operation in maintaining steam pressure, correct water level, clean plant, other duties are listed below.
Provide a flexible working arrangement along with other boiler operative colleagues in covering plant operation at all times. This may involve working outside normal shifts at short notice and covering between shifts during periods of holidays and sickness.
These duties should be carried out to the frequency laid down by the Supervisor or as the work arises, ie replace gauge glasses.
