We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Associate Educator to support and develop our Band 2 workforce.
We would like to recruit a dynamic individual to join the existing clinical educator team; this role will be aimed to support and develop our Band 2 Healthcare Support Workers (HCSW), within our theatre areas. Their duties will include working alongside other Healthcare Support Workers whilst performing their duties, always acting as a role model and assisting with training days for these staff.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual that displays all the trust values in a professional manner. This individual will strive to lead by example, to ensure a high standard of basic care is provided for all of our patients. It is important that the individual has a kind, caring and understanding manner to complement their outstanding communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
The candidate would be expected to work independently within their scope of practice.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate should have a passion for teaching and be able to provide constructive encouragement and support to staff. As part of the Clinical Education team you will be expected to support the Health Care Support Workers across the theatre areas, by working alongside our staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and competencies to allow them to perform a HCSW role to its full potential.
The role will involve cross site travelling, to ensure we provide support at both York and Scarborough theatres.

Person specification
Education, Qualifications and Training
* Foundation degree in relevant subject or demonstrates and equivalent level of learning and qualification, or working towards FD.
* A minimum of C grade GCSE or equivalent, in English and Maths
Experience and Knowledge Required
* Three years previous experience working in a Theatre setting.
* Ability to facilitate one to one and group support sessions.
* Experience of providing support to learners.
* Knowledge of care certificate domains

DBS Checks
Please be aware that all new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary either in 1 payment or over a six month period once you start employment. By applying you are agreeing to this undertaking. If you are successful you will be asked to confirm if you wish to pay in one amount or in instalments. The charges are currently £27.38 for a standard check and £55.38 for an enhanced check. The level of check will be determined by the post you are applying for.
