The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 7,5000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. Ours is a diverse workforce, with roles ranging from trainers, human resources, teachers, and psychologists to storekeepers, financiers, project and programme managers, and policy secretariat staff. There are many different functions and professions delivering key outputs for the Army.
The Army Basing and Infrastructure (B&I) Directorate plans and leads the built environment for the British Army to live, work and train.� This is a key foundation for the UK�s military capability and the team works alongside our delivery partners the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), Industry and the Reserve Forces� and Cadets� Associations (RFCA) to ensure that appropriate and sustainable infrastructure is in place to enable the Army to operate effectively.�
The Directorate consists of Civil Servants, military colleagues and contractors working closely to deliver the Army�s Modernisation Agenda.

Job description
We are looking for experienced and motivated Project Delivery Individuals to join us and lead the delivery of several Strategic Programmes in the Army's Portfolio. These Programmes deliver change in, infrastructure.�
As a key member of a Programme Management Office (PMO), the Post Holder will be integrated within a specific change programme, responsible for the coordination of a wide range of Portfolio, Programme and Project Management (P3M) activities. As the programme matures and ultimately graduates, or strategic priorities change, the Post Holder may be required to support a different change programme either for a defined period of time or on a permanent basis.
This role attracts recognised project management training and qualifications and will allow you to developing Programme and Project Management skills, knowledge and expertise in a challenging yet encouraging environment.
As a key delivery resource within the PMO the post holder will be expected to provide advice and guidance across a range of areas including:
P3M Activity:
1. Artefacts Management. Management of programme related artefacts, ensuring content remains relevant and documents updated in a timely manner.
2. Assurance Review Management. Support Line Management in the coordination of all independent review activity.
3. Benefits Management. Coordinate the delivery of the Benefits Management Strategy and Plan.
4. Business Case Development. Support the management of the business case approvals process from generation through to approval and track Outletter requirements. Support evidence collation for business cases and any other supporting activity as required.
5. Change Management. Coordinate the programme change control process.
6. Activity including: Board Meetings. Support all activities associated with Board Meetings.Interface with Programme/Project Teams. First point of contact for Programme and Project Teams regarding PMO activity.Reporting Management. Support Line Management in all reporting activity.
7. Knowledge and Information Management. Manage programme File Plans, ensuring documentation handled and stored in accordance with local policy.
8. Learning from Experience (LFE) Management. Capturing and disseminating programme and project LFE in accordance with orders
9. Input into planning activity relating to scope, deliverables, time scales, resource requirements and budget.
10. Resource Management. Manage PMO team resource (where appropriate). Input into programme resource activity and engage with the portfolio level where necessary.
11. Risk, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies, Opportunities (RAIDO) Management. To coordinate pan-Defence Lines of Development (DLoD) RAIDO activity and associated engagements.
12. Support to all scheduling activity for the programme.
13. Stakeholder Engagement & Comms. To prepare lines to take, question and answer packs, briefing documents, newsletters, site information sheets, and to act as the secretary of any communication working groups as required. To implement the delivery of the Programme Communications Strategy and Plan, and develop and deliver the related Stakeholder Engagement Plans. Secretariat/Parliamentary. To coordinate any Secretariat requests as necessary, including drafting submissions and responses relating to Ministerial business, Parliamentary Questions and Freedom of Information Union (TU) Negotiations. Support formal and informal consultation with Trade Unions.
Supporting with other ad-hoc PMO tasks as required.
