Key Responsibilities of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant: As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with an individual student who has an EHCP to provide the support they need to succeed academically and socially. Your role will include: Individualised Support – Delivering 1:1 assistance to help a student engage with the curriculum and achieve their learning goals. Collaboration with Teachers – Working closely with the class teacher to implement personalised learning strategies. Encouraging Independence – Supporting the student in developing self-reliance and confidence in their learning. Tracking Progress – Monitoring the student’s achievements and providing feedback for further development. Behaviour Management – Assisting the student in managing behaviour and promoting positive strategies for success. Building Positive Relationships – Creating a supportive and trusting environment to help the student thrive. Skills and Experience Required: We are looking for a caring and proactive individual with a genuine motivation to support students in their learning. The ideal candidate will have: Relevant Experience – Experience working with children is essential; experience in an educational setting is desirable. Understanding of Special Educational Needs – Knowledge of strategies to support learners with additional needs. Strong Communication Skills – Ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and parents. Patience and Empathy – A compassionate approach to working with children who require additional support. Classroom Management Skills – Ability to foster a positive and productive learning environment. Commitment to Education – A passion for helping students succeed. Qualifications – A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred but not essential if you have relevant experience.
