Our opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Maths Teacher to join our team as our Head of Mathematics.
Our Maths Department is team of 10 staff, you will be overseeing the department and maintaining our high standards. The team share a focus on giving pupils the best experience and outcomes. You will be joining a friendly, supportive and collaborative team.
Every year we have students taking A levels in maths and Further maths and moving into maths related degree subjects. Our students are welcoming, friendly, and have high ambitions for life beyond Whitby School.
Our ideal leader will have a passion for maths and will thrive working as a team.
You will have:
• Qualified Teacher Status at secondary level
• Excellent interpersonal and team working skills
• Very good skills in leading teams and line managing others, including performance management. (This can be experience in a previous role or transferable skills)
• Experience as an expert classroom practitioner
• Skills in supporting and coaching other professionals to develop their practice in teaching & learning
