Role: Support Worker Here at Cartrefi Cymru we support adults with learning disabilities and vulnerable adults in the community to live a fulfilled and enriched life. Talk to us about the hours you are looking to do. We have a mix of day, evening and weekend shifts and sleep ins available. Salary: £12.14 per hour and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night. If you use your own vehicle to attend training for example, we cover milage at 45p per mile Contract: Permanent Interviews: We are looking to interview as soon as possible so would encourage you to apply at the earliest opportunity What you’ll be doing: Here in Llandrindod Wells we offer both 24-hour supported living and sessional services across the area and we are looking for someone who can work very flexibly across these locations. With the variety of work and people you’ll meet no two days are ever the same in this role. You’ll be supporting people with a range of learning difficulties and sometimes complex needs to help them make their own choices about everyday things such as what to wear, what to do, what to eat, as well as bigger decisions such as where to live, how to spend their money or where to go on holiday. You’ll enable them to be able to fulfil those choices, including structured activities to develop their confidence and skills. You’ll be a hugely positive enabler by helping them to attend workshops, community events, dance, arts, shopping to name but a few. We want the people we support to really enjoy their lives so this really can be at times though sometimes challenging, but equally active, fun and rewarding role for the right person. Who we're looking for: No experience is required, full training provided, and we’d love to hear from you if you: have patience and empathy can support a person with their intimate personal care with respect and dignity have strong communication and teamwork skills are able to speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning You’ll also have a UK drivers’ licence.
