Arriva Traincare have an exciting opportunity for a Fitter to join the Light Maintenance team based in our Crewe depot. Reporting to the Team Leader you will efficiently carry out maintenance and overhaul of rail vehicles to laid down standards and procedures and play an active part in continuously improving product quality.

This is a permanent contract, working an average of 37 hours per week, 19:00-06:00 on a 4 on 4 off rota.
What will I be doing as a Shift Fitter?
Duties will include, although not be limited to:
1. Carry out work as allocated by the Service Delivery Leader within set timescales and to the recognised standards.
2. Operate (drive) rail vehicles as required, within depot operating limits, and in accordance with all relevant operating procedures.
3. Ensure that safety procedures and documents are adhered to in accordance with VMI & local instruction.
4. Ensure that work sheets are signed off promptly and correctly on completion of work.
5. Ensure that the appropriate Quality and Environmental procedures and work instructions are adhered to.
6. Attend technical, quality, safety and general briefings ensuring that the necessary action is taken on items raised.
What will I need to be considered for this Shift Fitter role?
1. Minimum NVQ Level 3, ideally with experience of working with rail traction and rolling stock.
2. Previous experience, involvement and understanding of rail vehicle maintenance activities.
3. Understanding of Depot Operations.
4. Able to interpret engineering drawings.
