Edinburgh Outdoor Learning comprises two residential centres and a city based resource and training hub. Benmore Outdoor Centre is seeking to add capacity to the existing instructional team, with positions based in Dunoon.
We focus on providing high quality Outdoor Learning to the school children of Edinburgh City along with a mix of other local authorities, youth, charity, corporate, and Duke of Edinburgh related organisations. Our course delivery aspires to contribute to each school’s Curriculum for Excellence outcomes through Outdoor Learning.
Applicants should be well-practiced and have a high level of competency in providing residential outdoor learning that delivers Curriculum for Excellence outcomes. The Centre has a growing staff structure that incorporates a Centre Manager, Two Lead Instructors, a team of full and part instructors, and a pool of Casual Tertiary Instructional Staff.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. An Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required for individuals who have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years. An unconditional offer of employment will be subject to the outcome of these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
