Our Level 6 Degree Apprenticeships Our apprenticeships allow you to study for industry-recognised qualifications whilst earning a competitive salary. As an apprentice, you will study with a training provider, such as a university, and combine this experience with real responsibilities in the workplace. Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on. A dedicated mentor will guide you through your personal and professional development. Level 6 Degree Apprenticeships have a typical duration of 3–6 years, during which you will attain both a professional and academic qualification to further your career. Our apprentices are employed on a permanent basis, so you'll continue to progress with Arup once you've completed your course. The Opportunity We are looking for an Apprentice with an appetite to develop their engineering, modelling, drafting, and digital abilities whilst working on multi-disciplinary projects from feasibility stage through to construction. Sustainability is at the core of our project delivery, where we focus on making best use of existing assets, delivering high value, low carbon solutions for our clients and end users. Your day-to-day roles and responsibilities will include drafting of drawings, modelling engineering elements in both 2D and 3D, Building Information Management (BIM) coordination, self-checking work, and supporting engineering colleges. The skills and experience that you will develop will be in Highway Design (Strategic and Local roads), Pavement Engineering, Street Furniture, Active Travel, Sustainable Drainage, Utility coordination, and Digital domains, requiring candidates who can adapt and step up to new challenges and diverse areas of Civil Engineering. An ability to understand and use varied design software such as AutoCAD/Civil3D, Bentley Microstation/OpenRoads Designer, and skills in reviewing and interpreting standards and undertaking assessments and analysis are essential. Good communication and collaboration skills are important for working within projects and the wider Arup team. Candidates should have three or more A Levels at Grade B or above, or equivalent, or a BTEC Level 3, in relevant STEM subjects such as Computer Science, ICT, or Maths.
