Rotational Pharmacy Technician - Maternity Cover
We have an exciting opportunity for a RotationalPharmacy Technician to cover maternity leave in our Pharmacy team. The role focuseson medicines reconciliation, stock management and providing medicationinformation and support to our nursing and medical staff, as well as to ourservice users and carers. Our aim is to support the best treatment outcomes, byworking as a part of the multidisciplinary teams across the organisation. Weare looking for a highly motivated, GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician to joinour team as a maternity cover. Experience of working within a hospital pharmacydepartment as a qualified technician or as a student technician is desirable,although applications from qualified pharmacy technicians working within thecommunity sector are welcome.
Main duties of the job
Undertake a range of pharmaceutical activities in relation to the ordering,procurement and supply of medicines and provide a point of contact for resolutionof stock discrepancies, and urgent/emergency orders
Facilitateprovision of pharmaceutical care including ordering, transport, preparation,administration, storage, and disposal of medicines
Ensureeffective medicine stock control and storage on the unit
Provideadvice to the unit and team on safe, secure, and appropriate storage ofmedicines in line with the Safe and Secure Handling of Medicines Procedures
Ensurepharmaceutical waste is handled safely and appropriately. Assisting with orarranging destruction, storage, and collection
Providetechnical information to prescribers and advise drug doses, forms, and use
Assess andcascade any pharmaceutical alerts and recalls
Carry outpharmacy audits including controlled drug audits, clinic room audits andtemperature audits

Job responsibilities
The purposeof this role will be to ensure safe medicines management across ourorganisation and partnering hospital and a hospice.
Thesuccessful candidate will focus on medicines reconciliation, ordering stock andservice user own medications, including TTOs. They will oversee destruction ofmedicines and work closely with other professionals to reduce waste andoptimise treatment options. They will also be completing a range of audits toensure the medicines management standards are met across the board.

Qualifications
* Statutory registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council, UK.
* BTEC
* Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, UK.
Experience
* GPhC registration
* Experience in handling medicines.
* Experience of providing patient information.
* Experience in working in a mental health hospital pharmacy environment or similar
