To provide finance support in the monitoring of expenditure primary care providers. To monitor and report the financial performance across several service areas, including optometry and pharmacy. To report the financial position, forecast and risks for the providers under the responsibility of the post holder and within the remit of the post. To support the development, implementation and reporting of Improving Value schemes and programmes using benchmarking information and agreeing how these will be delivered. Costing proposed service changes Ensure any reporting requirements on direct commissioning are provided on a timely basis and to an appropriate standard. Support completion of national returns as required. The postholder will be responsible for providing financial advice and support to functional teams to enable them to discharge their respective responsibilities. In doing so the postholder will be expected to maintain sound financial records and manage and input into corporate financial systems The postholder will be required to be flexible in their approach to supporting the finance team across all areas of direct commissioning if required.
