This role involves managing or overseeing the repair, maintenance, or installation of all equipment, systems, and building structures within the premises, as managed by the PFI Estates department. The person in this role needs to have strong experience and qualifications in working with various mechanical systems, including HVAC, air conditioning, chillers, commercial boilers, and plumbing. What you'll do: Multi-Skilled Maintenance: Perform a variety of tasks beyond core mechanical and plumbing skills, including general building repairs, while adhering to safety regulations and maintaining high standards of workmanshipSelf-Management & Teamwork: Organize and prioritize workload independently, and provide support to colleagues during absences, working effectively both individually and as part of a team.Technical Expertise: Maintain and repair a wide range of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire alarms, and more, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with safety standards.Training & Development: Stay updated with industry advancements, provide guidance and training to apprentices and colleagues, and take responsibility for continuous learning and professional growth.Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations, report incidents, and participate in on-call duties, including emergency response and maintaining a safe working environment.What you bring:Education and QualificationsEducated to HNC level or equivalent in an engineering or building discipline.Holding Incorporated Engineer status (desirable).Possession of an appropriate professional management qualification.Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., IET, CIBSE, WIAPS, CIPHE, IHEEM).Possession of C&G Level 1, 2 & 3 certificates in their core trade.Qualified to authorize Person to HTM (Health Technical Memorandum) standards across all disciplines.Essential experience:Qualified in or knowledgeable about Mechanical & Electrical Building Services, with at least 5 years of relevant post-experience in a healthcare or similar environment.Ability to multi-task across mechanical, electrical, and building disciplines, including basic understanding of various maintenance systems.Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and manage workloads with minimal supervision.Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.Ability to analyse and provide technical solutions for building maintenance and systems issues, ensuring efficient operation.Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations and relevant legislation to ensure safe working practices.High standard of personal presentation and a strong client-focused attitude, with a commitment to improving departmental operations.Experience within a Building Maintenance Organization, with an understanding of asset lifecycle and maintenance requirements.What we offer: Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it's a chance to be part of something greater.
