Our brand-new café will operate as a Proud to Serve Starbucks model but with its own identity and branding. The café will be located within the family services building at Grimsby Hospital and will open 7 days per week. The post holder will work as part of a small team ensuring all food and drinks are of a high standard including following guidelines laid out by government standards.
You will create high-quality beverages and food items quickly and efficiently, ensuring accuracy and consistency with every order. You’ll greet customers with a friendly attitude, making sure their orders are correct and delivering a welcoming, positive experience in the café.
You will process payments accurately (card transactions only) and ensure that each customer receives the correct order. Additionally, you'll ensure the café remains spotless and inviting, keeping all areas— from the counter and kitchen to the seating immaculately clean, safe, and welcoming for both customers and staff. You’ll represent the café and brand by maintaining high standards of product knowledge and sharing our values with customers, ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to quality and customer service.
You will also be required to work closely within a team and report to the Deputy Catering Manager to provide feedback which will assist in improving and developing the café, along with working in a professional manner towards fellow staff, patients and visitors echoing the trust’s visions and values. You will have excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude, and a passion for excellence.

· To comply with and contribute to the ongoing development of all Trust policies in respect of Health & Safety at Work, Fire Regulations and Procedures, Manual Handling, COSHH, Food Hygiene Regulation including full implementation of the HACCAP for the individual location.
· To assist in the preparation of food and set up for meal service in the café in accordance with The Trusts Catering Policy.
· Ensure any issues (food or maintenance related i.e. equipment) are highlighted to the Deputy Catering Manager.
· Responsible for reporting equipment failures in timely manner to the Deputy Catering Manager to ensure no delay in meals service and repairs are arranged at the earliest opportunity.
· Strip down and clean the catering equipment including ovens, fridges, freezers and work areas.
· Maintain a clean and tidy working environment.
· Be able to work in a range of extreme temperatures (i.e. hot and cold) relevant to the production of food and drinks.
· To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene
· To work as a key member of the café team and adapt to service needs as required.
· Complete mandatory training, and any training identified to meet service standards and the annual PADR.
· Preparing perfectly blended drinks and serving high-quality food that delights our customers.
· Keeping the counter area clean
· Receiving and processing payments including orders placed via an app (card payments only)
· Being an enthusiastic team player and excellent communicator
· Maintaining stock of clean mugs and plates
· Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation and presentation techniques
· Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs.
· Take part in audits to ensure compliance.
· Maintain brand standards.
· Prepare pre ordered food and drink orders for collection.
· Stock rotation of provisions in accordance with HACCP.
· To greet suppliers and delivery services, taking receipt of goods completing the necessary paperwork
