We are seeking a female Complex Care Worker to provide dedicated support for a client with a C5 spinal cord injury. The ideal candidate will have a caring nature, strong attention to detail, and a passion for making a positive impact on someones daily life. In addition to providing expert care, you will assist the client in enjoying their favourite activities, which include clothes shopping, attending horse racing events, visiting National Trust attractions, watching historical dramas, and indoor swimming at home. Key Responsibilities Personal Care: Assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Mobility Support: Helping with transfers, repositioning, and the use of mobility aids. Bowel and Bladder Care: Managing bowel programs and catheter care. Respiratory Care: Providing tracheostomy and ventilator support, if required. Medication Management: Administering medications and ensuring correct dosages. Meal Preparation and Feeding: Supporting with dietary needs and feeding as necessary. Social & Recreational Activities: Assisting the client with activities such as: Shopping for clothes and accessories. Attending horse racing events. Visiting National Trust sites and enjoying scenic walks. Watching historical dramas and films together. Indoor swimming and helping with pool-related activities. Emotional Support: Building a positive rapport and providing companionship. Record Keeping: Keeping accurate records of care, observations, and daily routines. Coordination with Health Professionals: Liaising with healthcare providers to ensure all care needs are met. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Experience: Ideally some experience in complex care or spinal cord injury care but we offer full training Skills: Knowledge of spinal injury care, tracheostomy and ventilator care, manual handling, and hoist usage. Qualifications: Relevant health and social care qualifications (NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3, or equivalent). Personal Attributes: Compassionate, patient, attentive, and committed to supporting both physical and emotional well-being. Legal: Right to work in the UK (if applicable). Interest in fashion, horse racing, history, and swimming, aligning with the clients hobbies. Manual handling and first aid certifications. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a care team.
