* Specialised wards for cats, dogs, exotics, outpatients, and isolation cases
With a high surgical caseload, including advanced soft tissue, orthopaedic, and spinal procedures, our client provides exposure to a variety of cases, from routine neutering to complex TPLOs and hemilaminectomies. Their dedicated rehabilitation team offers hydrotherapy and physiotherapy, and they have recently earned Zero Pain Practice accreditation, reflecting their commitment to pain control and advanced anaesthesia techniques.
Key Responsibilities
As a Surgical Nurse, you will:
* Work primarily in theatre and surgical nursing, ensuring high standards of anaesthesia and pain management
* Assist in complex surgical procedures, including soft tissue, orthopaedic, and emergency surgeries
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including vets, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists
* Provide exceptional patient care in a high-caseload environment
* Offer mentorship and support to student veterinary nurses (SVNs) as a clinical coach (full training provided)
* Engage in continuous professional development (CPD), with support for further certifications
Who They’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should:
* Be a qualified RVN with 1-2 years of post-qualification experience
* Have a strong interest in surgical nursing, anaesthesia, and pain management
* Be a team player with excellent communication and organisational skills
* Be willing to mentor and support SVNs (training provided for clinical coaching)
* Thrive in a fast-paced, high-caseload environment
