Key Responsibilities as an SEN Teacher: Plan bespoke education for learners with SEMH & Complex Needs. Work closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and support staff to create an inclusive learning experience. Deliver engaging, tailored lessons that meet the educational and emotional needs of the learners. Collaborate with peers, parents, and carers to support student progress. Use the school's facilities to provide learners with the best possible education. Foster independence and life skills in young learners with SEND. SEN Teacher Skills & Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS – ECTs are welcome to apply. Experience working with SEN learners and managing EHCPs. Strong knowledge of SEN teaching strategies and classroom adaptations. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students with diverse needs.
