NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. This is a permanent, part time position of 24.42 hours.
The shift pattern for this position is 7.5 shifts Monday to Friday on occasion 11.55 hour shifts days/nights and weekend rotation.
(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.
The post holder will be a registered Midwife on the NMC Register, educated to degree level or equivalent and will have a minimum of 5 years post registration in the relevant area. The post holder is responsible for the provision of safe, effective, person centred care in accordance with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s (GGC) policies and procedures and maintaining statutory requirements in accordance with the NMC through effective leadership and management.
The post holder co-ordinates the care on a shift by shift basis through effective management of staff resources and multidisciplinary team working within the area of their remit. They are responsible for assessing, planning and implementing highly specific / individualised clinical care within the area of their remit, making best use of expert clinical skills and judgement. In addition, the post holder will have regular responsibility as maternity page holder for the maternity unit, community areas and gynaecological ward. This post will primarily be for the planned caesarean birth list.
