Job Title: Area Build Manager
Location: Southwest (Devon & Somerset)
Job Type: Full time - 2 year fixed-term contract (40 hours per week)
Salary: £38,000 - £48,000 DOE (vehicle provided)
Job Summary:
The Area build manager will be at the forefront of ensuring the Airband network grows efficiently, while complying with NRSWA and H&S requirements. At Airband we take pride in the quality of our network, therefore you will be responsible for auditing the works against contractual specifications, agreements with landowners and ensuring we deliver industry best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
* Reports into Project Manager
* Maintain programme key objectives as set by PM
* Update daily/weekly reports and review against the project delivery milestones. Highlighting any risks that may have arisen to the project managers and the regional service managers
* Ensure all post installation/as-built documents including DCR's are completed and checked in accordance with the conditions of the project.
* Consult with the Highways Department, Local Authorities and other Utilities companies to facilitate and coordinate civils works where required to fulfil the project delivery milestones.
* Ensure all site-specific method statements/risk assessments are in place and civils teams are fully conversant and compliant
* Public liaison duties will be required either as part of planned work or in supporting survey and site acquisition teams if required.
* Remain current with all Health and Safety, environmental and civils regulation through accredited training and attendance at industry related events.
* Assess and confirm BP teams are suitably qualified and hold all relevant certificates and are up to date.
* On-site H&S, Quality and NRSWA inspections.
* Ensure compliance to all aspects of Build are in place whilst in progress.
* Support PM on Adhoc basis where required.
* Attending Stake holder (both internal and external) meetings/calls when required.
* Be and active member of cross functional improvement/change teams.
Key skills
* Utilities management experience, with significant experience in telecoms and FTTx networks
* Conversant in current Health and Safety and Environmental regulations pertaining to civils and utilities operations
* OSP Telecoms network installation
* Good interpersonal skills and able to negotiate suitable outcomes that mitigate project risk
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
* Demonstrable experience of method statements and risk assessments
* Ability to demonstrate experience and working knowledge of CDM Regulations
Mandatory
It is important that all our Area Build Managers have the right certifications to be compliant and safe whilst working. Therefore, we have a list of mandatory requirements for the role, but we will support new colleagues to fill any skills gaps they have before they are fully operational in the role.
