We have a position available for a Clinical Trials Administrator to join the Cambridge Clinical Trials Centre (CCTC). We are looking for a well organised candidate with administrative experience and an interest in research to assist in the provision of high-quality clinical trials. The post available is a non-patient facing role, requiring individuals to interact with the whole CCTC team (>100 members) or within specified portfolios, as required. The role involves providing vital administrative support to the whole department. You will ideally have experience of working in an office environment, the ability to prioritise work tasks, and have excellent communication skills.
The CCTC is involved in the set-up, coordination and conduct of clinical and translational cancer trials/research. The CCTC Clinical Operations team consists of over 70 research nurses, trials practitioners, data managers, bio-sample coordinators and administrators who collectively participate in both commercial and non commercial cancer trials. The CCTC also hosts the Cancer Theme of the Cambridge Clinical Trials unit, which consists of programmers, trial coordinators and data managers who coordinate approximately 30 in house studies.
The main duties will be to provide an Administrative support service to the CCTC and supporting the Core Functions Manager with human resources and recruitment. You will be liaising with CCTC Management including the Operations and Deputy Operations Managers, Recruitment, Adverts, other departments and the Trust Human Resources Dept.
You will be the main point of contact for all in-person and telephone enquiries for the CCTC, which will include patient calls as well as general enquiries. Your role will involve (but is not limited to) assisting and supporting recruitment, staff rosters, maintaining stationary supplies and all department procurement, dealing with deliveries, departmental logistics and supporting research activities such as RECIST requests.
The role requires you to work autonomously and as part of a team, using a diverse range of expertise and excellent communication skills.
The role is mainly office based (at least 4 days a week).
