Overview:
MacTaggart Scott is looking to recruit a Grit Blast Operator to grit blast a range of components to a high standard ensuring the correct profile is achieved prior to paint application. You will have the opportunity to work on unique and innovative equipment using a state of the art blast booth. You will ensure the profile meets customer requirements as per customer specifications. As well as support the paint department to prepare equipment for painting and assist with painting when suitably qualified.

Responsibilities
* Preparation of jobs prior to painting, cleaning Grit blasting and masking IAW procedures.
* Quality Checking own work prior to check by Inspector.
* Liaising with other departments/colleagues to achieve the results on the work to list
* Ensure that all activities comply with all the relevant procedures and standards.
* General housekeeping of blast booth and paint shop.
* Assist paint department with Masking, de-masking and any other paint associated tasks
* Be leader for Continuous improvement (POAP).
Paint Application Support
* Assist with masking and blanking equipment prior to gritblast and Paint.
* Apply Paint systems to jigs and fixtures to improve utilization of painters.
* Support painters in application of holding primer coat once suitably qualified.
* Support painters with housekeeping, ensuring blast room and paint area is safe and tidy.
Requirements
* ICATS – Abrasive blast cleaning or TTP.
* Proactive / confident / team member / effective & assertive communicator.
* Self-starter and requires minimal supervision.
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Flexible (Willing to work overtime).
* Be PC literate and able to carry out basic tasks using a PC e.g. email
* Have an attention to detail and able to keep accurate records.
