The Role
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, and contributing to the strategic direction of the company's growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the construction industry, a proven track record in sales and business development, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Business Development Manager will work closely with the leadership team to support the company’s objectives and further enhance our competitive edge in the market.
What you will be doing
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Strategy & Growth:
1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities across various sectors.
2. Develop and implement effective strategies to increase market share and drive growth in line with company objectives.
3. Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and new opportunities in the construction sector.
4. Work with senior management to align business development efforts with overall company goals and objectives.
2. Relationship Management:
1. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
2. Act as the primary point of contact for potential clients, addressing their needs and providing solutions tailored to their project requirements.
3. Collaborate with the pre-construction and project management teams to ensure seamless handover of projects from business development to execution.
4. Support the company’s sales targets by proactively engaging with prospective clients and securing new projects.
3. Market Intelligence & Reporting:
1. Provide regular reports to senior management on business development activities, sales pipeline status, and market conditions.
2. Monitor industry trends, economic changes, and competitor activities to ensure the company remains competitive and innovative.
4. Brand Promotion & Networking:
1. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
2. Enhance the company’s visibility and reputation within the construction industry.
What we will need from you
1. Experience:
1. Minimum 5 years of experience in business development within the construction or related industry.
2. Proven track record of successfully securing large-scale construction projects and managing client relationships.
3. Strong knowledge of the construction industry, and relevant frameworks.
2. Skills & Competencies:
1. Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
2. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
3. Excellent organisational skills.
4. Proficient in using Sales Force CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
5. A proactive approach to problem-solving and business growth.
6. Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and partners.
